6 things you must have in your Instagram profile

Updated: Aug 15, 2021

You need to make a strong first impression on everyone who comes across your Instagram.

Why?

because that's how you're going to grow your following, be able to sell your service, and attract people who will buy from you.

A clean and optimized profile will also show that you are a professional and know what you're doing!

I've created a checklist of everything you need to optimize your Instagram bio so you can maximize the benefit of social media marketing.

Here are 6 things you need to optimize your Instagram profile

1. Use a username that is easy to remember and relates to your career.

Have you ever had a time where you want to search someone on Instagram but can't remember the username?

It happens to many of us.

The point of this is for you to be accessible to your audience and they will be able to remember you if they ever need to search for your profile.

2. Profile picture

Ideally, a picture of you because people like to see faces.

Make sure it's a well-lit picture with a clean background!

If not, use a logo and make sure the text in the logo is big enough to be legible & the picture is clear.

3. Put your job title as your name where it's bold!!

Let's say you're a personal chef and you have that in the name section.

When someone is searching for a personal chef, your profile will have a higher chance of getting found.

You can also put your name along with the title.

This is IMPORTANT and a simple tip to make a big difference!

That's how some of my clients found me by putting "Social media manager" and that helped me stand out from the competitors.

4. Bio Description

Now what to put in the bio description?

Include your specialty, what you do for clients, and a call to action.

5. Story highlights

Story highlights are important because you want to make sure people click on them and they give you an opportunity to give your audience a sneak peek of your business.

Keep the highlights from about 5 to 7.

If your audience has to scroll through the highlights to see everything, that's too many.

Keep it simple, organized, and updated.

Here are some of the highlights that will be perfect for chefs:

>About me

>Service

>Reviews

>BTS

>Tips

>FAQ

6. Call-to-action and add a link (Make sure the link is not broken)

Think about where you want to direct people.

It's best to have a Call-to-action that directs them to the link you have and make sure you're using the correct link!

There's no excuse in optimizing your bio now that you know everything about it!

These 6 key items in your bio will be sure to help you stand out.
